Droid

Droid reads its provider config from ~/.droid/config.yaml. Add a provider block with the gateway's base URL and a gw_ key.

api_key_env references an environment variable; Droid looks it up at start. Export the variable in whichever shell launches Droid.

Verify

Expected output: a regular Droid agent step that prints the assistant turn.

Troubleshooting

• Droid silently exits — GATEWAY_KEY usually isn't exported in the environment Droid sees. Verify with env | grep GATEWAY_KEY.
• upstream_bad_request — Droid sometimes sends parameters that the upstream doesn't accept, such as tool definitions for a model without tool support. Check the model's capabilities on the catalog page.
